Research shows that active parental involvement improves a child’s success in school. At Emerson Academy of Dayton, we firmly believe in the benefits of a true parent-teacher-child partnership and we are fortunate to have a tremendous group of parents who are true partners in their child’s success.
We believe parental involvement is so critical that we ask parents to sign a “contract” with the school. This contract commits them to take an active role in their child’s education - a role that includes getting them to school each day, on time, well-rested and ready to learn, with all homework and projects complete.
To foster parental partnership we offer ample opportunities for parents to get involved. Whether it’s volunteering for playground duty during recess, shelving books in the library, chaperoning a field trip or helping planning the school carnival, Emerson Academy of Dayton welcomes parents at school.
We are also proud to offer parents who come in to give of their time and energy a place of their own, a designated parent room where parents can work on projects and hold meetings. This is our way of telling you that we hope to see you in the building often.
