Emerson Academy will provide a place where students feel comfortable, safe and accepted, promote open communication between parents, teachers and students, which encourages a sense of teamwork and cooperation, acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of students and staff in learning and leadership and develop a concept of community through academic and extracurricular activities, which focus on character development.
Emerson Academy will provide a rich curriculum that promotes intellectual curiosity, creative thinking, and challenges students to reach their full potential. Accomplish high levels of achievement through the use of measurable academic standards aligned with the Ohio Department of Education’s Content Standards. Place focus on character development, which incorporates respect, social skills, and moral integrity into academic concepts, and develop the concept of teamwork through academic and extracurricular activities.
The staff of Emerson Academy will focus on increased student achievement with instruction methods that reflect current research and proven effective classroom practices. Support the school’s mission, vision, values, beliefs, philosophy, and student creed in attitude and actions. Model the importance of lifelong learning through their commitment to ongoing professional development. Work to create conditions that promote student success, professionalism through person integrity, commitment, and ethical behavior and collaborate to improve student learning.
The students of Emerson Academy will accept responsibility for their learning and their actions. Students will set challenging goals and give their best efforts to achieve high academic standards. Behave towards other students, teachers, and staff members in a manner consistent with good character. Students will encourage each other in an atmosphere of support and become involved in community service.
The parents of Emerson Academy will play an active role in the academic education and character development of the students. Parents will form partnerships with teachers to demonstrate the importance of education. Parents will monitor their child’s academic progress and become involved in the school by volunteering their time and/or services. Parents will support the school’s vision, mission, values, beliefs, philosophy and student creed.

Students will value learning and be respectful, responsible, and accountable for their actions. Our school environment will reflect consistency and cooperation. There will be a positive, safe, caring atmosphere among staff, parents, and students where everyone is treated with respect.
The staff models positive support, fairness, and consistency. They use evaluation and communication to continually improve.
